Who knew kids water bottles would become such a hot trend, especially in schools?! And while I’m thrilled my kids are drinking more water and reducing single-use plastic, I have to admit, I can’t help but think ahead to the future.
What do I mean? It’s those sipping straws and the acceleration of, dare I say it, wrinkles. But, like everything else, moderation is key. The important thing is that they’re drinking more water!

Owala (My Pick)
This family favorite, stainless-steel bottle has such a great design—both of my daughters have one. It comes in different sizes and lots of colors, with a push-button lid with a lock. There is a straw option ( straw inside of the bottle if your child wants to sip on water), but I prefer the swig-drinking feature. My kids drop their bottles all the time, and this one is both super durable and leakproof.
Stanley
You’ve seen these everywhere and they’re super popular with kids right now. A core drawback for us, other than only having a sipping straw option, is that you have to carry it by hand. With kids already juggling their backpacks, laptop bags, and sports gear, adding a large Stanley to the mix isn’t as practical. But Stanleys are trendy, and come in tons of sizes, colors, and shapes to please anyone on your gift list.
Hydro Flask
Hydro Flasks are another big hit. They come in so many sizes, colors, and shapes—you can even get bottles, tumblers, and jugs. I like the designs, and I know people who swear by them. If you’re on the hunt, there’s bound to be a Hydro Flask your kid will absolutely love.
Yeti
This stainless steel bottle offers a ton of colors to choose from, and a few different versions like Rambler, Tumbler, and even Yonder. Some have a straw, but others come with a chug cap, which is more my style. I don’t have personal experience with these, but they’re definitely among the most popular water bottle brands out there.
Cirkul Water Bottle
Cirkul water bottles are becoming a big deal in schools. They’re used with flavor cartridges like fruit punch, mixed berry, and more. So if you struggle with your child not wanting to drink plain water, this could be a great option. Just a heads up, though—this one’s a BPA-free plastic bottle, not stainless steel.
At the end of the day, finding the right water bottle for your child is about balancing style and function. After all, keeping loved ones hydrated is important, but it doesn’t hurt if they look cool doing it!
